Gone are the days when men used to be judged by their shoes. In today's day and age, watches are men's vices. Men love their watches and why wouldn't they? Watches are timeless pieces. There are numerous things to consider when buying the perfect time piece – lifestyle, dial, strap and colour.
Consider your lifestyle before indulging in a watch. Are you buying a watch because you want another one or is it for daily wear? Once you have answered these questions, look at your wardrobe, if you're buying a watch for daily wear – consider your style. Are you a formal guy? sporty guy? Do you wear suits or jeans to work? If you have business meetings then your watch should reflect the same lifestyle. A dressy watch works best for formal wear. When buying a dressier watch, you should choose something that is classic, sophisticated and more lasting. Note:
If you're more casual in your outlook and day to day work, then sport or technical watches work best. If you don't know what you should buy, stick to a stainless steel strap. It is more practical than leather and as it's certainly more durable. It's dressy enough to be worn with a business suit and casual enough for other occasions.
Concentrate on the face of the watch. If you're a petite man, buy a face that is smaller in nature. On bigger men a standard watch face can end up looking like a ladies watch, so try, try until you succeed.
NOTE: please do not mismatch: a multi-function sport watch with a formal suit screams shabby.
